The 10 Biggest US AI Startup Fundraises in 2025 (So Far)

The AI gold rush isn’t slowing down. While 2024 set the bar sky-high for the sector in the US, this year’s opening stretch is keeping pace with billions already pouring into American AI startups. Here are the top 10 fundraising rounds that caught investors’ attention (and a lot of money) so far in 2025.

OpenAI, $40 billion

The biggest deal of the year, and by far. OpenAI’s round, in the end of March, set a new record, valuing the company at a jaw-dropping $300 billion post-money. Among investors, SoftBank led, with Microsoft, Thrive Capital, and Coatue also in the mix.

Anthropic, $3.5 billion

Announced in the beginning of March, Anthropic’s Series E pushed its valuation to $61.5 billion. Lightspeed led the round, joined by Salesforce Ventures and General Catalyst.

Lambda, $480 million

Specialized in the AI infrastructure vertical, the firm locked in a massive Series D earlier this year, boosting its valuation close to $2.5 billion. SGW and Andra Capital co-led; Nvidia, ARK Invest, and others also joined.

SandboxAQ, $450 million

Google and Nvidia joined with Ray Dalio and others to sign the check for SandboxAQ Series E round, putting the company’s valuation at $5.7 billion.

Shield AI, $240 million

Defense tech meets AI in this Series F. L3Harris and Hanwha Aerospace led the raise, valuing the company at $5.3 billion.

Abridge, $250 million

This healthcare-focused AI startup closed its Series D on February, hitting a $2.75 billion valuation. IVP and Elad Gil led the charge.

Celestial AI, $250 million

A key player in AI infrastructure, Celestial AI’s Series C valued it at $2.5 billion. Fidelity led, with Tiger Global and BlackRock on board.

Harvey, $300 million

This startup combine AI tools to deliver legal tech solutions. Harvey’s Series D put its valuation at $3 billion. Sequoia led, with backing from OpenAI’s Startup Fund and Kleiner Perkins.

Runway, $308 million

This media production AI startup raised its Series D in the beginning of April, with a $3 billion valuation. General Atlantic led, with SoftBank and Nvidia also in.

Together AI, $305 million

The open-source AI infrastructure firm secured a Series B on Feb 20, valuing it at $3.3 billion. Prosperity7 and General Catalyst led.
